About the event
In this one-hour, virtual workshop for rising 12th graders, students will learn how to complete the Activities section in the Common Application, which is used by over 1,000 colleges and universities for first-year admission.
Guided by Dr. Jenny Deren, students will learn which activities and experiences should be included in the list, how to write clear and concise activity descriptions, and strategies for maximizing the impact of activities in the college application as a whole. The session includes instruction, expert tips, and time for individual application work and Q&A.
Registered participants will receive an email with the Google Meet link and recommended pre-work, including links to material from the AXS Companion to Common App and a worksheet for developing an activities list. To maximize participation in the workshop, students should complete pre-work before the session, but this is not required or necessary for attending. Students may use pre-work after the…
